Individual wellbeing does not exist in isolation. The systems, environments, and professional structures surrounding people matter. My advocacy and research interests explore how we can create healthier, more equitable, and sustainable possibilities - for individuals, professionals, and the communities we all share.
My clinical background has given me an appreciation for the individual experience.
My work beyond clinical practice has led me to look more closely at the systems surrounding that experience.
I’m interested in questions such as:
What helps mental health professionals build sustainable careers?
Where does professional autonomy get lost?
How can neurodivergent people be better understood and included?
What could behavioral healthcare look like if we were willing to rethink traditional models?
These questions continue to shape my professional interests.
“When we look beyond
the individual, we find
more room for
real, lasting change.”
Exploring how counselors and other mental health professionals can have stronger voices in the conversations that shape their profession.
Considering professional environments that give counselors greater opportunity to make informed decisions about their work, careers, and professional direction.
Advancing curiosity around neurodivergent experiences, affirming approaches, assessment, education, and environments that recognize different ways of thinking and being.
Exploring healthier and more sustainable approaches to professional life—including the realities of burnout, workload, career development, and long-term wellbeing.
Exploring new ideas for professional collaboration, service delivery, education, and behavioral health infrastructure.
My doctoral journey continues to expand these questions through study, research, reflection, and professional experience. Current areas of interest include:
Counselor education and supervision
Neurodivergent-affirming practice and assessment
Trauma-informed and integrative approaches
Experiential learning in counselor preparation
Counselor workforce sustainability
Leadership and professional advocacy
Mental health systems and practice innovation
